We’re partnered with an established precision engineering business supplying complex components and assemblies into the aerospace and defence sectors.
Due to continued growth and a strong order book, they’re looking for an experienced Quality Control Inspector to join their night shift team.
This is a hands-on inspection role for someone who understands precision engineering, engineering drawings and quality requirements, with the ability to identify issues and ensure components are right first time.
The Role
You’ll be responsible for inspecting precision components, assemblies and sub-assemblies throughout the manufacturing process, ensuring products meet drawing specifications, customer requirements and internal quality standards.
What You’ll Be Doing

Carrying out firstoff, in-process and final inspection

Inspecting precision components against engineering drawings and specifications

Using inspection gauges, precision measuring equipment and CMMs
-
Completing and compiling First Article Inspection Reports (FAIRs)

Maintaining accurate and auditable inspection records
-
Identifying, recording and reporting nonconformances
-
Supporting root cause analysis and corrective actions

Escalating quality concerns to Production and Quality Management

Ensuring compliance with quality, inspection and HSE procedures
What We’re Looking For
-
Proven experience in precision inspection / quality control

Experience using CMMs and precision measuring equipment

Strong ability to interpret complex engineering drawings and specifications

Experience with FAIR documentation

Good understanding of imperial and metric geometrical definitions

Strong knowledge of quality and inspection processes

Aerospace experience would be advantageous but is not essential

ERP / MRP experience desirable

Knowledge of MSA, NDT, SPC and ISO / ASME would be advantageous

Methodical, accurate and detailfocused approach
