Reporting to the Production Engineer, the Junior Quality Assurance Inspector will support day-to-day quality assurance administration and inspection activities across the organisation. The role is responsible for carrying out incoming inspection activities, supporting quality investigations, maintaining quality records and assisting in the continual improvement of the Quality Management System.
The role works closely with Manufacturing, Engineering, Test, Support and external suppliers to ensure products, components, materials and processes meet defined quality standards, specifications and customer requirements.
The role provides an excellent opportunity to develop practical quality inspection experience whilst ensuring quality assurance administration and compliance activity is delivered effectively within a high-technology manufacturing environment.

Junior Quality Assurance Inspector Responsibilities:

Carry out Goods In inspection of incoming materials, components and products (training can be provided)

Record inspection results accurately and identify, contain and escalate non-conforming materials

Support goods inward activities, inventory management, kitting and order packing

Monitor product quality and record accordingly.

Support containment activities relating to suspect or defective materials and components
-
Assist with Non-Conforming Material management activities and participate in Material Review Board processes where required
-
Support root cause investigations, and assist with corrective and preventive action activities

Support customer quality investigations and complaint resolution activities
-
Support supplier quality investigations and supplier corrective action activities
-
Conduct routine process compliance checks
-
Support internal quality audits
-
Assist with external audit preparation and ensure quality records remain audit ready

Maintain accurate, organised and traceable quality documentation, records and inspection reports

Support the administration and maintenance of the ISO 9001 Quality Management System

Review and update quality documentation, procedures, forms and work instructions as directed
Junior Quality Assurance Inspector Experience and Attributes:
-
Experience within a manufacturing, engineering, inspection or quality environment essential.

Experience carrying out inspection, testing, quality checking or quality verification activities desirable. Willingness to be trained essential.

Experience maintaining records and adhering to compliance documentation and processes.

Strong attention to detail and ability to work accurately with documented requirements

Good knowledge of Microsoft Office and ability to maintain accurate records and reports

Structured and organised approach to managing records, priorities and follow-up actions

Strong verbal and written communication skills, with strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build positive cross-functional working relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders.

Must be a car or bike driver or to be able to get to a business park on the edge of Guildford (not easily accessible from the train station).
