A growing fire safety consultancy is seeking an experienced Fire Consultant to join their Leeds team. The successful Fire Consultant will work across a varied portfolio of residential, commercial and mixed-use developments throughout Leeds and the wider Yorkshire region.
The Fire Consultant's Role
The appointed Fire Consultant will provide technical fire safety advice across projects from early design through to completion, working closely with clients and wider project teams.
Key responsibilities will include:
Preparing and reviewing fire strategies
Assessing drawings, layouts and technical specifications
Advising on means of escape, compartmentation and fire resistance
Supporting projects through Building Regulations and approval stages
Producing detailed technical reports and recommendations
Attending client, design team and project meetings
Liaising with architects, developers, contractors and Building Control
Providing practical fire safety advice across a range of building types
The Fire Consultant
The successful Fire Consultant will ideally have:
A degree or recognised qualification in Fire Engineering, Fire Safety or a related subject
Previous experience within a fire consultancy or similar environment
Strong knowledge of Approved Document B and relevant British Standards
Good understanding of current UK fire safety legislation
Experience producing fire strategies and technical documentation
Strong communication and client-facing skills
Membership of the IFE or another relevant professional body would be beneficial
A full UK driving licence would be advantageous
