Are you organised, detail-focused and confident communicating with suppliers and internal teams? Do you have experience within procurement, purchasing, supply chain or a similar environment?
We are currently recruiting for an Expeditor to join a busy procurement team in Brentwood. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with strong administration and communication skills who enjoys keeping things moving and ensuring orders are delivered on time.
The Role
As an Expeditor, you will play a key role in supporting the procurement function, working closely with Buyers, suppliers and internal departments to ensure purchase orders are processed accurately and deliveries arrive in line with requirements.
You will be responsible for monitoring outstanding orders, resolving delivery issues and maintaining accurate procurement records, while also supporting customs and import-related processes.
What will you be doing?

Expediting open purchase orders with suppliers to ensure delivery requirements are met

Obtaining and checking purchase order acknowledgements

Raising purchase orders in line with demand

Maintaining accurate records and procurement documentation

Liaising with suppliers regarding late, short or delayed deliveries

Working closely with Buyers to resolve supplier and delivery issues

Supporting internal Sales teams with ad hoc customer expedite requests

Coordinating supplier and purchase order schedules

Managing inbound queries relating to documentation and quantity discrepancies

Supporting import and customs processes, ensuring documentation is completed correctly and on time

Liaising with freight forwarders regarding deliveries and consolidation releases

Reviewing customs documentation to support the clearance of incoming goods

Acting as a key point of communication between procurement, suppliers and internal departments

Ensuring all procurement administration is completed accurately and within agreed timescales
What will you bring to the party?

Previous experience within procurement, purchasing, supply chain, expediting or a similar administrative environment

Excellent attention to detail and a methodical approach to your work

Strong written and verbal communication skills

Excellent organisational and time management skills

Confident using Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Word

Experience using an ERP or MRP system would be advantageous

Previous experience with import/customs processes would be beneficial

Strong numeracy and literacy skills

Good analytical and problem-solving abilities

The ability to build effective relationships with suppliers, colleagues and internal stakeholders

A proactive approach with the ability to identify and resolve issues
