We're hiring a Finance Assistant to join our team at CT Fire Protection Ltd, based in South Kilworth, Lutterworth.
Reporting directly to the Managing Director and supporting the Group Finance Director, you will play a key role in overseeing the day-to-day financial operations of a growing fire protection business with an annual turnover of approximately £3.5 million. This is a varied and hands-on position, ideal for an experienced finance professional who enjoys working within a small business environment where they can make a real impact on financial performance, compliance, and process improvements.
This opportunity would suit a proactive individual who is comfortable managing a broad range of accounting responsibilities, from transactional finance and reconciliations through to financial reporting and supporting business decision-making. The role is office based and requires independent working, with your own transport essential due to the location.
What you receive for joining us:
We're offering a competitive salary based on experience, alongside the opportunity to develop your career within a well-established and growing business. You'll work closely with senior leadership, gaining exposure to all aspects of finance within the organisation. In addition, you'll benefit from 25 days holiday plus Bank Holidays, your Birthday off, a company pension scheme, and a supportive working environment where professional development is encouraged.
Here's a look at some of the things you'll be doing:
Managing the full accounts payable and receivable processes, including supplier invoices, payment runs, sales invoicing, credit control, debt collection, and resolving financial queries
Overseeing daily finance operations including journal postings, maintaining the general ledger, managing cash flow, completing bank reconciliations, petty cash administration, and supporting payroll reconciliations
Assisting with the preparation of monthly and annual financial reports, management accounts, budgets, forecasts, and ensuring compliance with VAT, PAYE, CIS, and other HMRC requirements whilst supporting internal and external audits
Identifying opportunities to improve financial controls and processes, providing general finance administration, and supporting the Managing Director and Group Finance Director with ad hoc business requirements
Can you show experience in some of these areas?
Do you have proven experience working within an accounting or finance function, ideally within an SME environment, with responsibility for transactional finance, reconciliations, and financial reporting?
Are you qualified, part-qualified, or actively studying towards a finance qualification such as AAT, ACCA, or CIMA, with a degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline being advantageous?
Do you have strong systems experience, including advanced Microsoft Excel skills, and ideally experience using Sage 50 Accounts, Sage Intacct, or similar accounting software?
Can you demonstrate excellent attention to detail, strong numeracy and analytical skills, together with the ability to prioritise workloads, meet deadlines, and work independently? Are you a confident communicator with the ability to build effective working relationships across the business, suppliers, and external stakeholders, while maintaining a proactive approach to continuous improvement?
