Financial Controller
Kettering, Northamptonshire
Monday to Friday, 8.00am–5.30pm
Interaction Recruitment is working with a well-established organisation in Northamptonshire to recruit an experienced Financial Controller.
This is a hands-on senior finance position with responsibility for financial control, management reporting, budgeting, forecasting and the day-to-day management of a small finance team.
The successful candidate will work closely with senior management, providing accurate financial information and commercial insight to support business decisions and ongoing development.
The Role
Key responsibilities will include:
Producing accurate monthly management accounts and KPIs
Preparing consolidated financial information
Managing balance sheet controls and monthly reconciliations
Managing cash flow and financial forecasting
Preparing annual budgets and forecasts
Overseeing VAT, PAYE, Corporation Tax and other regulatory submissions
Managing banking and treasury activities
Overseeing accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll and intercompany transactions
Coordinating the annual audit process
Providing financial reporting and analysis to senior management
Managing, developing and mentoring a small finance team
Reviewing and improving financial processes, systems and controls
Supporting senior management with financial analysis and ad-hoc projects
Ensuring financial and regulatory requirements are met accurately and on time
About You
You will be a qualified accountant with strong technical and commercial accounting experience and previous experience operating at Financial Controller level.
Ideally, you will have:
ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent qualification
Previous Financial Controller experience
Experience working across multiple entities or business areas
Experience within construction, contracting or a similar project-led environment
Strong management accounts, budgeting and forecasting experience
Experience with VAT, PAYE, Corporation Tax and audit
Previous experience managing and developing a finance team
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Excellent commercial awareness
Strong communication skills and the ability to present financial information clearly to senior stakeholders
Excellent Excel skills
Experience using Sage 200
A hands-on, organised and proactive approach
