The Role
As a Chartered Town Planner, you will be involved in a broad range of planning work, providing strategic and practical advice to clients and supporting projects from initial feasibility through to determination.
Your responsibilities will include:
Managing a varied caseload of planning projects.
Preparing and submitting planning applications and appeals.
Providing planning advice to private and commercial clients.
Undertaking planning appraisals and development assessments.
Liaising with local planning authorities, consultees and other stakeholders.
Preparing planning statements, representations and supporting documentation.
Advising clients on planning strategy and development opportunities.
Supporting business development and contributing to the continued growth of the consultancy.
Building and maintaining strong relationships with clients and professional contacts.
About You
We are looking for a Chartered Town Planner with a strong understanding of the UK planning system and a genuine interest in development and consultancy.
You will ideally have:
Chartered status with the Royal Town Planning Institute (RTPI).
Relevant experience within a planning consultancy, developer or local authority environment.
Strong knowledge of the UK planning system and development management.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
The ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines effectively.
A commercially minded and client-focused approach.
Confidence in dealing with clients, planning officers and other stakeholders.
Strong analytical, report-writing and negotiation skills.
A proactive attitude and the ability to work both independently and as part of a wider team.
