Temporary Food Hygiene Inspector
In this role, you will play a key part in protecting public health by delivering a programme of food hygiene, food standards, and health & safety inspections.
You will work with a wide range of businesses and stakeholders, providing clear advice, taking proportionate enforcement action, and contributing to safer communities across the borough.
Key Responsibilities:
Carry out food hygiene and standards inspections in line with the Food Law Code of Practice
Investigate complaints relating to food safety and health & safety matters
Undertake accident investigations/health and safety complaints and inspections
Dealing with predominantly low-risk inspections and new unrated businesses
Manage a varied caseload effectively
Completed paperwork and associated documentation to be completed and dropped into the office at the end of each week.
About You:
You will be a qualified Environmental Health Practitioner CIEH EHORB or equivalent and Masters or BSc Environmental Health or Higher Certificate in food inspections.
Experienced in enforcement under Health & Safety legislation, and confident in making proportionate decisions.
Competent under the Food Law Code of Practice and be able to demonstrate ongoing CPD.
Strong communicator, well organised, and able to manage competing priorities effectively.
The role is working remotely and paid per inspection based upon the placement grade.
The post holder will have a full UK driving licence and have access to a vehicle to travel across the western side of Cambridgeshire
