The successful candidate will have at least 5 years' post-qualification/on-site experience, with a strong understanding of residential architecture, construction and project delivery. You'll be involved in developing high-quality design solutions while working closely with clients, consultants, contractors and the wider project team.
The role will include:
Developing residential projects from concept and planning through to technical design and construction.
Producing and reviewing drawings, specifications and other project information.
Working closely with clients, consultants, contractors and local authorities.
Managing and coordinating architectural packages throughout the project lifecycle.
Applying strong knowledge of construction detailing, materials and on-site delivery.
Attending site meetings, carrying out inspections and resolving construction issues.
Contributing to masterplanning and larger-scale residential developments, including site analysis, layouts, housing mix, access, movement and placemaking.
Supporting planning applications and responding to planning and design requirements.
Helping to develop design proposals that balance architectural quality, commercial considerations and planning requirements.
Mentoring and supporting junior members of the team where appropriate.
About you
We're looking for someone who is:
A qualified Architect with a minimum of 5 years' relevant experience.
Experienced in residential architecture, ideally across multiple project stages.
Confident with on-site construction and project delivery, with practical experience of working with contractors and resolving site issues.
Knowledgeable about masterplanning, residential layouts and placemaking.
Comfortable working across both design and technical stages.
Experienced in planning processes and residential development.
Able to communicate clearly with clients, consultants and contractors.
Organised, commercially aware and capable of managing deadlines.
Design-focused, with a strong eye for quality and detail.
Proficient in relevant architectural software, ideally including AutoCAD and/or Revit, with other visualisation or presentation software an advantage
