If you already have some solid administration experience and are now looking for the opportunity to move into Human Resources, this could be the perfect next step.
Our client is looking for a bright, organised and highly detail-focused HR Assistant / HR Administrator to join their HR function. You do not need to have built your career in HR already — what matters is that you have previous administrative experience, excellent attention to detail and a genuine enthusiasm for developing a long-term career within Human Resources.
You will receive excellent training, support and hands-on experience, giving you the chance to build practical knowledge across a wide range of HR activities. From recruitment and onboarding through to employee records, payroll information and HR documentation, this is an opportunity to develop a strong generalist HR foundation from the outset.
What will you be doing?
This is a varied role where no two days are likely to feel exactly the same. You will support the smooth running of day-to-day HR administration while gradually building your knowledge and confidence across the wider employee lifecycle.
Your responsibilities will include:
Supporting recruitment activity, including reviewing CVs and coordinating interviews
Helping with new starter onboarding and employee induction processes
Maintaining accurate employee records and updating the HR system
Preparing contracts and other HR documentation for review
Supporting right-to-work and employee record administration
Coordinating leaver processes and assisting with exit administration
Providing accurate employee information for payroll processing
Responding to routine employee queries in a professional and helpful manner
Supporting the HR team with day-to-day administration and wider projects
Handling confidential employee information with care and discretion
Helping improve HR processes and administration as your experience develops
What are we looking for?

A professional approach when handling confidential or sensitive information
A genuine interest in developing a career within HR
A positive, reliable and proactive attitude
Desirable:
Previous exposure to HR, recruitment or employee administration
An HR, Business Administration or related qualification
Experience using an HR system or similar business software
A basic understanding of HR processes
Experience using modern digital or AI-assisted tools in an administrative environment
Why Apply?
For someone looking to make their first real move into HR, this role offers an excellent platform from which to build a career.
You will gain exposure to a broad range of HR activities rather than being limited to one small area, with plenty of opportunity to learn from an experienced HR professional.
Most importantly, you will receive excellent training and ongoing support, allowing you to develop your HR knowledge at a sensible pace while taking on greater responsibility as your confidence grows.
If you are an experienced administrator who is meticulous, organised and serious about building a career in Human Resources, we would love to hear from you.
