Overview
An established, growing three-partner accountancy practice based in the Basingstoke area is seeking a motivated Tax Senior / Personal Tax Specialist to join a close-knit team. Working directly alongside the firm's Tax Manager, this position will focus heavily on supporting a growing portfolio of high-net-worth individuals, limited company directors, shareholders, and trusts.
This role is ideal for a candidate looking to take ownership of personal tax compliance while gradually gaining exposure to high-level, bespoke advisory work. The firm prides itself on organic growth, a supportive culture, and a highly competitive benefits package.
Job Responsibilities
Tax Compliance: Manage and prepare self-assessment tax returns for high-net-worth individuals, limited company directors, shareholders, and trusts.
Portfolio Support: Work directly alongside the Tax Manager to service his expanding client base and ensure all compliance deadlines are met efficiently.
Advisory Assistance: Support partners and senior staff on complex, high-level personal tax and trust advisory projects as the portfolio grows.
Client Interaction: Serve as a key point of contact for routine client queries, gathering relevant records and maintaining strong ongoing relationships.
Team Collaboration: Liaise with the wider accounts team to ensure tax codes and corporate/personal tax submissions align across the firm's SME client base.
Job Requirements
Practice Experience: Solid background in UK personal tax compliance within an established accountancy practice.
Technical Skills: Comfortable with complex tax returns; prior exposure to trusts and high-net-worth individuals is highly advantageous.
Qualifications: ATT / CTA qualified, part-qualified, or Qualified by Experience (QBE) welcomed.
Growth Mindset: Keen to develop technical knowledge, assist with advisory work, and progress alongside an expanding practice.
Interpersonal Skills: Clear communication skills with a client-focused, collaborative approach.

Competitive Remuneration: Baseline salary around £38,000, with higher bandings (up to £55,000) available for candidates bringing extensive senior experience.
