SEND Tutor - Hayes and Surrounding Areas

Quantum Scholars is working with Hillingdon Council to recruit experienced and compassionate SEND Tutors to provide personalised one-to-one support to children and young people across Hayes and the surrounding areas.
As an approved Alternative Provision provider, we work with young learners who are currently unable to access mainstream education due to a range of additional needs. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a genuine difference by delivering tailored, face-to-face tuition that helps learners rebuild confidence, re-engage with education and work towards positive outcomes.
Sessions are generally delivered in learners' homes or suitable community settings during school hours.
About the Learners
You will support children and young people with a range of Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), including:
Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC)
ADHD
Anxiety and other mental health needs
Emotionally Based School Avoidance (EBSA)
Medical needs
Social, emotional and behavioural challenges
Other additional learning needsWe are looking for tutors who are confident building positive, trusting relationships and who can adapt their approach to suit each individual learner. Creating a calm, encouraging and supportive environment is key to helping every young person reach their potential.
The Role
As a SEN Tutor, you will:
Deliver engaging, personalised 1:1 tuition in learners' homes or community settings
Support learners across subjects including English, Maths, Science and more
Plan and adapt sessions around each learner's ability, interests and educational goals
Build confidence, independence and a positive approach to learning
Provide academic, emotional and pastoral support where appropriate
Work flexibly during school hours, Monday to FridayWe are particularly interested in hearing from tutors based in Uxbridge, Hayes, West Drayton, Ickenham, Ruislip, Northwood, Hillingdon, Yiewsley, Cowley and the surrounding areas, where we are seeing an increasing number of learner referrals.
What We're Looking For
To be successful in this role, you should have:
Experience supporting children or young people with SEND
Previous experience as a SEND Tutor, Teacher, Teaching Assistant (TA), Learning Support Assistant (LSA), SEN Teaching Assistant, Behaviour Mentor, Support Worker, Youth Worker, or in a similar role
Strong communication and relationship-building skills
The ability to adapt teaching and learning strategies to individual needs
A patient, empathetic and flexible approach
An Enhanced DBS certificate, or willingness to obtain one
