Are you an experienced Environmental Protection Officer looking for your next contract opportunity?

We are currently working with a Local Authority in Nottinghamshire that is seeking an Environmental Protection Officer to join their team on an initial 6 month contract. This is an excellent opportunity to work within a busy Environmental Health service, dealing with a varied caseload and making a direct impact within the local community.

Key Responsibilities

Investigate and resolve statutory nuisance complaints relating to:
Noise
Smoke
Dust
Odour
Light pollution
Undertake environmental monitoring and noise assessments.
Serve notices and carry out enforcement action where required.
Provide environmental health input on planning applications.
Respond to licensing consultations and applications.
Conduct site visits, inspections, and evidence gathering.
Prepare reports and maintain accurate case records.
Liaise with residents, businesses, councillors, and external stakeholders.
Ensure compliance with relevant environmental protection legislation and guidance.

Requirements

Previous experience working within a Local Authority Environmental Protection team.
Strong working knowledge of Environmental Protection Act legislation and statutory nuisance investigations.
Experience dealing with planning and licensing consultations.
Ability to manage a varied caseload independently.
Excellent communication and report-writing skills.
Full UK Driving Licence and access to a vehicle.
