Base Mechanic
Our client, based in Aberdeen, is looking for a Base Mechanic to join their team on a staff contract basis
Key Responsibilities

Service, maintain and repair all company equipment to the highest standards, including yard equipment and HYDRO-BOOST diesel pumps.

Assist with repairs to centrifugal pump ends and replace component parts as required.

Prepare and carry out Third-Party Release Inspections to ensure HYDRO-BOOST diesel pumps can be successfully mobilised offshore.

Develop a broad and effective knowledge of mechanical shutdown systems, including overspeed, gas shutdown and emergency-stop systems.

Ensure calibration and safety systems on equipment are kept up to date and records are filed appropriately.

Assist with procurement activities for the Mechanical Department.

Assist in maintaining and improving the Mechanical Bay and stores

Attend other work sites when required.

Participate in the workshop on-call rota
Essential Skills & Qualifications
-
Recognised Mechanical Engineering / Mechanical Maintenance qualification.

Previous experience working as a Diesel Mechanic.

Previous experience within an offshore, oil & gas or industrial environment.

Experience with mechanical maintenance, servicing and repair.

Knowledge and experience of pressure testing.
-
Knowledge of valves and fittings.

Basic computer literacy, including Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook
