Diesel Engine Mechanic

(circa £29,000 – £30,000 DOE)
37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 8:00am – 4:00pm
On-Call: Participation in an on-call rota after training
KBM Resourcing are working with one of our a well-established clients to recruit a Mechanical Assistant to join their workshop team.
This is an excellent opportunity for a hands-on mechanical candidate looking to develop their skills within a busy operational environment. Reporting to the Mechanical Supervisor, you will support the maintenance, servicing and repair of a wide range of mechanical equipment while ensuring high standards of safety, quality and customer service.
Key Responsibilities

Service, maintain and repair mechanical equipment, including diesel-powered systems.

Assist with the repair and maintenance of pumps and associated equipment.

Support equipment preparation and inspections for offshore mobilisation.

Complete maintenance records, certification and related documentation accurately.

Assist with workshop operations, equipment loading and inventory management.

Support procurement activities and stores management.

Maintain high housekeeping standards within the workshop.

Participate in daily toolbox talks and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.

Work in accordance with company HSEQ policies and procedures.
Requirements

Previous experience in equipment maintenance and servicing.

Strong mechanical aptitude with experience working on diesel engines essential.

Experience of pressure testing, valves and fittings.

Practical, hands-on approach with excellent problem-solving skills.

Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.

Good communication and organisational skills.

Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office.

Forklift certification would be advantageous but is not essential.
