Laser Punch Operator
New opportunity at this busy sheet metal fabrication company for someone to operate this Amada Laser Punch combination machine. You will produce high-quality components to drawing specifications, and contribute to a safe, efficient workshop environment.
This role can be offered on a day, late or night shift and the company has flexibility to adjust start and finish times to suit.
Key responsibilities

Set up, program and operate Amada Laser Punch equipment for production runs

Interpret engineering drawings, nesting plans and work orders accurately

Load tooling, fixtures and materials; adjust machine parameters for material type and thickness

Monitor production for quality; perform in-process inspections and final checks

Carry out basic preventative maintenance and routine cleaning of machines

Report faults and work with maintenance to resolve issues quickly to minimise downtime

Maintain accurate production records, timesheets and material usage logs

Follow health & safety procedures and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives
Required skills and experience

Proven experience operating Amada Laser Punch machines

Strong understanding of sheet metal fabrication processes and tooling

Ability to read and work from engineering drawings and CNC programmes

Competent in basic machine setup, tool changes and minor troubleshooting

Attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality parts

Good communication skills and ability to work as part of a team

Physically able to handle materials and stand for extended periods
