Key Responsibilities

MIG welding a range of steel fabrications, primarily mild steel.

Reading and working from engineering drawings and welding specifications.

Fabricating, assembling and welding components to required dimensions and tolerances.

Preparing materials for welding, including cutting, grinding, drilling and fitting.

Carrying out visual inspections of your own work to ensure high-quality standards are maintained.

Working safely and efficiently while maintaining a clean and organised work area.

Ensuring all work is completed in accordance with company procedures, quality standards and project requirements.
Essential Skills & Experience
-
Previous experience as a MIG Welder/Fabricator within a steel fabrication or engineering environment.

Strong MIG welding skills, particularly with mild steel.

Ability to read and understand engineering/fabrication drawings.

Good fabrication and fitting skills.

Ability to work accurately and to specified tolerances.

Good understanding of workshop health and safety requirements.
-
Ability to work independently while also contributing effectively as part of a team.

Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing quality work.
Desirable
-
Relevant welding or fabrication qualifications.

Experience working on structural steel or bespoke fabrication projects.

Experience with stainless steel or aluminium fabrication.

Experience working to recognised welding and fabrication standards.

Experience within demanding industries such as structural, offshore, oil and gas or nuclear.
