Systems Engineer – Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE)

We are currently recruiting for an experienced Systems Engineer with a strong background in Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) to join a major engineering programme based in Derby.
This is a 12-month contract opportunity working across complex engineering systems, supporting requirements, system architecture, modelling, integration, verification and validation activities.
Key Responsibilities:

Lead systems engineering activities across the full engineering lifecycle

Develop and maintain system requirements and architectures

Carry out requirements analysis, decomposition, allocation and traceability

Develop MBSE models using SysML

Create functional, physical, behavioural and interface models

Define system architectures and interface specifications

Support system integration, verification and validation activities
-
Maintain requirements traceability and digital continuity
-
Carry out trade studies and technical analysis

Support engineering reviews including SRR, PDR, CDR, TRR and PRR

Identify technical risks and support mitigation activities
-
Work closely with multidisciplinary engineering teams
Experience Required:
-
Strong Systems Engineering experience within complex engineering programmes

Previous experience applying MBSE methodologies

Good working knowledge of SysML

Experience with Cameo Systems Modeler / MagicDraw, Enterprise Architect or Capella

Experience with requirements management tools such as DOORS, DOORS Next, Jama or Polarion

Strong understanding of requirements management and traceability

Knowledge of system architecture and interface management

Experience with verification and validation planning

Understanding of systems engineering lifecycle processes

Degree in Systems, Aerospace, Mechanical, Electrical Engineering or a related discipline is desirable
Previous experience within aerospace, defence or another highly regulated engineering environment would be advantageous.
Contract: 12 months
Rate: £35 per hour
