About the Role
Laser Expertise is looking for an experienced Press Brake Setter to join our growing manufacturing team. This is a hands-on role for someone who can confidently set and operate CNC press brakes, interpret engineering drawings and produce high-quality folded components to tight tolerances.
Working within a busy fabrication environment, you will be responsible for setting machines, bending a variety of materials and ensuring all work meets the required quality standards.
Key Responsibilities

Set and operate CNC press brake machines safely and efficiently.

Read and interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications.

Select the correct tooling and machine settings for each job.

Produce high-quality folded and bent components to specification.

Carry out first-off inspections and regular quality checks during production.

Measure components using engineering measuring equipment including verniers, rulers and angle gauges.

Adjust machine settings where required to maintain quality and accuracy.

Work to production schedules and achieve agreed output targets.

Identify quality issues and report any machine faults or production concerns.

Ensure work areas remain clean, organised and safe.

Follow all company health & safety procedures.

Support colleagues and assist with other fabrication duties where required.
Skills & Experience
Essential
-
Previous experience as a Press Brake Setter / Operator.

Experience setting and operating CNC press brakes.

Confident carrying out bending operations on a range of materials and thicknesses.

Ability to read and understand engineering drawings.

Experience selecting tooling and programming or adjusting machine settings.

Ability to work accurately to tight tolerances.

Good understanding of fabrication processes.

Excellent attention to detail.

Reliable with a positive attitude and strong work ethic.

Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Desirable
-
Experience with Amada, Bystronic, Trumpf or similar press brake machinery.

Counterbalance Forklift Licence.

Crane or lifting equipment experience.
