Finance Assistant

A well-established organisation is seeking an ambitious Finance Assistant to join its friendly and supportive Finance team. Reporting to the Finance Manager, this is a fantastic opportunity for someone looking to take the next step in their finance career within a business that offers genuine training, development and long-term progression.
This varied role combines core finance responsibilities with the opportunity to develop specialist knowledge in legal cashiering. Full training will be provided, making this an excellent opportunity for someone with existing finance experience who is keen to broaden their skillset and take on greater responsibility.
The position would suit an individual with approximately 2-3 years' experience within a finance or accounts environment who is looking for a role offering structured development, increased exposure and future career progression opportunities.
Previous legal cashiering experience is not required.
Key Responsibilities
Assisting with client and office account transactions, including receipts, payments and transfers
Preparing and processing payments accurately and within agreed deadlines
Performing bank reconciliations and investigating any discrepancies
Processing supplier invoices and assisting with payment runs
Responding to supplier queries and maintaining accurate supplier records
Supporting billing processes and allocating incoming payments
Assisting with the collection and management of outstanding balances
Monitoring shared finance inboxes and responding to internal and external enquiries
Supporting month-end activities and preparing reports and information for management
Maintaining accurate financial records and ensuring compliance with internal controls
Learning and applying relevant regulatory requirements and financial procedures
Supporting supplier onboarding and due diligence activities
Obtaining quotations and assisting with procurement reviews when required
Maintaining supplier, contract and service records
Providing wider support to the Finance team as business priorities evolveAs your experience develops, you will be given increasing responsibility and the opportunity to become more involved in specialist finance and legal cashiering activities.
About You
Approximately 2-3 years' experience within a finance, accounts or bookkeeping role
Strong attention to detail and a high level of accuracy
Good numerical and analytical skills
Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities
Strong communication skills and the confidence to liaise with internal and external stakeholders
Proactive attitude with a willingness to learn new systems and processes
Good working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications
Ability to work both independently and as part of a teamWhat's on Offer
