JOB SUMMARY
Operate radioscopic equipment to produce diagnostic scans and measure concentrations of radioactive isotopes in specific body areas.
SPECIFIC ELEMENTS AND ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS (* = Essential Functions)
1. Properly prepares radiopharmaceuticals for nuclear medicine procedures as requested by physician. Calculates and administers the correct dose for each patient.
2. Properly selects technical factors based on pathology of an individual patient.
3. Effectively operates gamma cameras and other equipment; contacts the appropriate person when equipment malfunctions.
4. Effectively performs quality control checks on the equipment as mandated by the regulatory agencies and keep an accurate log of the checks performed.
5. Participates in performance improvement activities; quality improvement and patient safety activities; assists in maintaining compliance with NYSDOH accreditation and other internal and external regulatory standards including the code of conduct
6. Supports and upholds established hospital and department policies, procedures, objectives, quality improvement, safety, environmental and infection control, and codes and requirements of accreditation and regulatory agencies.
7. Ensures that equipment, supplies and accessories are available as needed
8. Properly transports patients to Nuclear Medicine exam room; prepares and maintains room.
9. Effectively provides education and technical demonstrations to students, nursing staff, and other health care professionals; assists in orienting and mentoring staff.
10. Maintains positive behaviors, approaches, attitude and commitment to interpersonal service toward patients, visitors, and/or co-workers.
11. Maintains orderliness and cleanliness of work areas.

Hours: Per Diem. Monday - Friday
Salary: $49.00 - $57.00 per hour and per diem incentive

Requirements:
EXPERIENCE
Required:
2 or more years of Nuclear Medicine Technologist experience
Preferred:
Background in CT and X-Ray
ARRT or NYS Registration as an RT R
EDUCATION
ARRT and/or NMTCB certified
AAS or BS preferred
CERTIFICATIONS/SKILLS
Customer Service, Communication, Partnering, Problem-Solving.
