*What you'll do:*
* Provide physical therapy services under the supervision of a licensed physical therapist to patients across the age continuum.
* Assist the physical therapist to develop a rehabilitative plan of care with realistic goals, based on a functional evaluation or reassessment.
* Educate patients, family members, students, staff and the community at-large.
* Coordinate services with other medical disciplines, making recommendations as appropriate to facilitate a complete rehabilitative process.
* Participate in Performance Improvement and Risk Management.
*What you'll need:*
* Graduate of a Physical Therapy Assistant Program approved by the American Physical Therapy Association.
* Current certification or eligible for certification by the State of New York Education Department.
* Solid oral and written communication skills, time management .
* BLS for Health Care Providers preferred.
*Work environment and hazards:*
* Clinical setting. Exposure Class I – routine or potential exposure to blood, body fluids, excretions or secretions.
* Risk of communicable diseases and risk of physical injury.
*Physical Demands:*
* Heavy work: continual and repetitive motions, including but not limited to heavy lifting, bending, stooping, twisting, pushing, pulling, climbing and prolonged walking and standing.
*Compensation:*
* Pay Range: $22.25 - $32.30 per hour
* Pay is based on experience, skills, and education. Exempt positions under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) will be paid within the base salary equivalent of the stated hourly rates. The pay range may also vary within the stated range based on location
