Skilled Workshop Operative
Are you an experienced woodworker looking for your next opportunity? Our client in Reading is seeking a skilled and reliable Workshop Operative to join their busy team manufacturing high-quality outdoor furniture and timber products.
This role is ideal for someone who can work independently, use their own initiative, and produce quality work with little or no supervision.
Hours: Monday to Friday, 07:00–16:00
Pay Rates:

3-day trial period paid at £12.71 per hour

Following successful completion of the trial and demonstration of the required skills and ability to work without supervision, the pay rate increases to £14.10 per hour

Overtime after 10 hours per day and all hours worked on Saturdays and Sundays are paid at £21.15 per hour
What you'll do:

Manufacture and assemble high-quality outdoor furniture and timber products

Cut, shape and prepare timber and other materials

Operate workshop tools, machinery and saws safely and efficiently

Work independently to complete jobs to a high standard

Maintain quality standards and identify any issues

Keep the workshop clean, organised and safe
What you'll need:

Previous woodworking, joinery or furniture manufacturing experience

Experience making furniture from timber

Ability to work independently with little or no supervision

Confidence using hand tools, power tools and workshop machinery

Good attention to detail and pride in producing quality workmanship

A proactive and practical approach to work
