Our client, a national manufacturing company are looking to recruit an experienced, organised Accounts Assistant who thrives in a fast‑paced environment. You will support the finance function of a busy manufacturing business, ensuring accurate processing of financial transactions, smooth month‑end routines, and reliable reporting. This is a hands‑on role suited to someone who enjoys structure, numbers, and being part of a friendly, collaborative team.
Reporting to the Finance Manager, key responsibilities to include:

Processing purchase invoices, matching to PO and GRN

Preparing supplier payment runs

Reconciling supplier statements

Raising sales invoices and credit notes

Allocating customer payments
-
Chasing outstanding debt and maintaining the aged debtor report

Bank reconciliations

Assisting with month‑end journals
-
Maintaining accurate financial records and filing
-
Supporting stock and inventory reconciliations
-
Assisting with VAT returns
-
Handling finance queries from suppliers and internal teams

Supporting the Finance Manager with ad‑hoc tasks and reporting
As a successful candidate you will have previous experience in an Accounts Assistant or similar finance role and manufacturing or stock‑based environment experience could be beneficial but not essential.
You will possess strong numerical accuracy and attention to detail, confidence using accounting software (e.g., Sage, Xero, SAP) together with the ability to prioritise workload in a fast‑paced setting. An AAT qualification would be desirable.
