We are offering opportunities for Assistant Transport Planners to support the Transport Strategy Team in shaping and delivering transport policies and strategies that align with EMCCA's ambition to create connected communities.

Key Responsibilities
Support the development of transport policies and strategies, ensuring they are evidence-led and aligned with regional priorities
Undertake research and analysis to inform transport plans and policy development
Analyse data and prepare high-quality reports, briefings, and presentations, including graphical outputs and GIS mapping
Assist with project management activities, including maintaining documentation, tracking progress, and coordinating meetings
Engage with internal and external stakeholders to support collaboration and effective communication
Contribute to monitoring and evaluation processes to assess the impact of transport initiatives
Respond to day-to-day queries relating to transport programmes and ensure timely resolution of issues
Support public engagement and outreach activities, including attending meetings and events as required
Assist with administrative and financial processes, including procurement and funding activities under guidanceAbout You

Essential Skills and Experience:
Demonstrable interest in transport planning, policy development, or infrastructure
Strong analytical and research skills, with the ability to interpret and present data clearly
Effective communication skills, with the ability to engage a range of stakeholders
Good organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities
Experience supporting projects or programmes, including coordinating activities and resolving issues
Proficiency in IT systems, including data analysis tools such as Microsoft ExcelDesirable:
Experience or familiarity with Geographic Information Systems (GIS)
Understanding of transport systems, policy frameworks, or regulatory environments
Awareness of the political and social context influencing transport decisionsQualifications
Degree (or equivalent experience) in transport planning, geography, urban planning, civil engineering, economics, or a related discipline
