Our client is a highly regarded specialist subcontractor operating across groundworks, RC frames, basements, infrastructure, rail, and aviation projects throughout London and the South East.
Due to continued growth and a strong pipeline of secured work, they are now seeking an ambitious Assistant Estimator to join their pre-construction team.
The Role
This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to move into estimating from either a Quantity Surveying or Site Engineering background. The company is open to considering:
Working alongside experienced senior estimators and pre-construction professionals, you will gain exposure to tendering and pricing major groundwork, RC frame, and civil engineering packages across London.
Key Responsibilities

Assisting with the preparation of competitive tender submissions

Reviewing drawings, specifications, and tender documentation

Measuring quantities and assisting with take-offs
-
Obtaining and analysing subcontractor and supplier quotations
-
Supporting cost planning and pricing exercises
-
Assisting with value engineering and commercial reviews
-
Liaising with clients, suppliers, subcontractors, and internal teams
-
Supporting bid submissions and tender presentations

Maintaining accurate estimating records and documentation
Requirements
-
Previous experience within the construction industry
-
Background as either:
-
Strong interest in pre-construction and estimating
-
Good understanding of construction methodologies
-
Excellent numerical and analytical skills
-
Strong communication and organisational abilities
-
Proficient in Microsoft Excel and construction-related software
-
Experience within groundworks, RC frame, civils, or concrete structures would be highly advantageous
