The Opportunity:
Long Term Futures are seeking a dedicated Learning Support Assistant to join a small alternative provision secondary school within a Multi-Academy Trust based in the High Peak (SK23). The provision supports students with Special Educational Needs (SEN) and additional behavioural needs in a nurturing, structured, and highly supportive environment. This role involves supporting students across a range of subjects, including Maths, English, Science, and other core curriculum areas, helping learners re-engage with education and achieve positive outcomes.
Key Responsibilities:
Work closely with the SENCO and teaching staff to support students with a range of additional learning and behavioural needs
Provide 1:1 and small group support across multiple subjects, including Maths, English, Science, and more
Support students to access the curriculum by adapting resources and learning strategies where required
Encourage engagement, focus, emotional regulation, and positive behaviour within the classroom
Assist students with coursework, organisation, and differentiated learning activities
Foster a safe, positive, inclusive, and supportive learning environment
Monitor student progress and provide feedback to teaching staff and the SEN department to adapt support strategiesWho We're Looking For:
Level 3 qualification minimum and essential
Experience working with SEN students or within alternative provision settings is highly desirable
A patient, flexible, resilient, and nurturing approach to supporting young people
Confidence supporting learning across multiple subjects
Strong communication skills to work collaboratively with teachers, SEN staff, and students
