GSL Education are seeking a resilient, proactive, and highly motivated Behaviour Support Assistant to work within a dynamic Alternative Provision setting in Hull. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a genuine difference to the lives of young people who require additional support to re-engage with education.
This role is ideal for individuals with a strong understanding of behaviour management, SEMH needs, and a passion for supporting students who may present with challenging behaviours. (Team-Teach trained is desirable)

Specialist Alternative Provision supporting students with SEMH needs
Focus on re-engagement, emotional regulation, and positive outcomes
Small class sizes with high staff-to-student ratios
Strong emphasis on behaviour support, structure, and routine

Multi-agency working to support vulnerable young people
The Role as a Behaviour Support Assistant:
Provide consistent 1:1 and small group behaviour support
De-escalate challenging situations using a calm and professional approach
Support students in developing emotional regulation and social skills
Work closely with teaching staff to implement behaviour strategies
Encourage engagement in learning and promote positive routines
Build strong, trusting relationships with students
The Ideal Candidate:
Previous experience working with SEMH, challenging behaviour, or in Alternative Provision
Strong behaviour management skills and emotional resilience
Ability to remain calm under pressure and respond effectively to incidents
A genuine passion for supporting vulnerable young people
Team Teach training is highly desirable (or willingness to undertake training)
Excellent communication and teamwork skills
