Overview
We are seeking an experienced Steel Operative to join our team on a shift basis, working either from 6am to 2pm or 2pm to 10pm. The role involves working within a dynamic manufacturing environment, contributing to the fabrication and assembly of steel components. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in steel fabrication, welding, and mechanical processes, with a keen eye for detail and safety. Duties

Operate fabrication equipment such as grinding machines, welding apparatus, and hand tools to produce high-quality steel components

Assist with sheet metal cutting, shaping, and assembly tasks in accordance with technical specifications

Perform basic measurements and calculations using standard maths skills to ensure precision in work

Conduct routine inspections of materials and finished products for quality assurance

Maintain a clean and safe work environment by adhering to health and safety regulations

Support the setup and changeover of tooling and fixtures for different production runs

Collaborate with team members to meet production targets efficiently while maintaining safety standards
Qualifications

Proven experience in steel fabrication, welding, grinding, or similar mechanical roles

Knowledge of sheet metal work and assembly processes

Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, and tooling used in steel fabrication

Mechanical knowledge relevant to manufacturing environments

Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications accurately
