Our client, a well-established specialist solutions provider, is seeking a Packing & Shipping Administrator to join their team in a varied, hands-on role within a small but busy department. Based on-site and offering a salary of circa £30,000, this position is ideal for someone with strong administrative skills and warehouse experience, handling approximately 1,400–1,500 parcels per month.
The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring shipments are processed accurately and dispatched on time, while supporting both operational and administrative functions. This role suits an individual who is organised, adaptable and comfortable balancing manual tasks with computer-based work.
The role is full-time and office-based, working Monday to Friday.
Key Duties:
• Picking and packing customer orders accurately
• Organising shipments in line with company and customer requirements
• Booking shipments using courier systems (DHL, FedEx, UPS)
• Ensuring timely and cost-effective dispatch of goods
• Preparing shipping and customs documentation where required
• Updating orders and shipment details on internal systems
• Providing freight quotes and supporting administrative queries
• Managing packaging stock levels and reordering supplies
• Supporting general warehouse duties and manual handling tasks
• Operating equipment safely in line with health and safety guidelines
Requirements:
• Experience within a shipping, logistics or warehouse environment
• Strong administrative and computer skills
• Ability to prioritise and manage a busy, fast-paced workload
• Confident communication skills and ability to work across teams
• Comfortable in a role combining manual and office-based tasks
• Able to work independently with minimal supervision
Desirable:
• Experience with systems such as SAP
• Awareness of shipping regulations (e.g. dangerous goods, lithium batteries, liquids)
• Forklift truck experience or licence (desirable, not essential)
