About the Role
Class Education are working with a Stevenage Secondary School who are seeking a dedicated and skilled Learning Support Assistant with a minimum of Level 2 British Sign Language (BSL) qualification to join their supportive and inclusive team. This is a rewarding opportunity to work closely with students who are deaf or have hearing impairments, helping them to fully access their education and thrive within the school environment.
Key Responsibilities

Provide 1:1 and small group support to students using British Sign Language (BSL)

Facilitate effective communication between students, staff, and peers

Support the delivery of lessons by interpreting and adapting content where necessary

Assist in the development and implementation of individual education plans (IEPs)

Encourage students’ independence, confidence, and social inclusion

Work collaboratively with teachers, SENCO, and external specialists
The Ideal Candidate Will Have

A recognised Level 2 qualification in British Sign Language (BSL)

Experience working with children or young people, ideally within an SEN setting

Strong communication and interpersonal skills

A patient, empathetic, and proactive approach

Ability to work effectively as part of a team
