Business Development Executive
Location: Nottingham (hybrid working), with travel across the East Midlands
Hours: Full‑time, 35 hours per week
Salary: £30,021 – £34,845 per annum, depending on experience

The Role
We are seeking a motivated and commercially minded Business Development Advisor to generate new apprenticeship and upskilling opportunities and build strong, long‑term relationships with employers.
This is a varied, target‑driven role combining telesales, field‑based activity, networking, and relationship management. You will act as an ambassador for the organisation, delivering an excellent customer experience while contributing to sustainable growth.
Key Responsibilities
Proactively generate new business opportunities through telesales, field sales, networking, and social media
Build and maintain a strong pipeline of employer opportunities to achieve monthly targets
Secure apprenticeship vacancies and upskilling opportunities across identified sectors
Attend employer and networking events to generate new leads
Conduct employer meetings and training needs analyses
Complete employer documentation, including contracts and health & safety checks, in line with funding requirements
Effectively account‑manage employers to maximise opportunities and deliver excellent service
Maintain accurate employer and CRM records
Contribute ideas to sales strategy and continuous improvement
About You
Essential:
Proven track record of achieving sales targets
Experience generating your own sales leads
Strong IT skills, including Microsoft Office and CRM systems
Full UK driving licence and access to own transport
GCSE English and Maths (Grade 4/C or above, or equivalent)Desirable:
Knowledge of apprenticeship funding
Experience within the FE or training sectorYou will be:
Self‑motivated, target‑driven, and comfortable working autonomously
Confident engaging with a wide range of employers and stakeholders
