This is a part-time role (17.5 hours per week), with potential scope to temporarily increase to 31.5 hours per week. The role is office-based in Birmingham, with the possibility of one day working from home following the successful completion of training and supervision.
In this Housing Legal Assistant position, you will be:
· Managing your own caseload of disrepair claims under supervision
· Supporting the defence of pre-action and issued legal claims
· Drafting legal documents, pleadings, and correspondence
· Ensuring compliance with court procedures and relevant legislation
· Liaising with internal teams, solicitors, and external stakeholders
· Supporting tenancy management and wider litigation matters within the Housing Legal team
· Maintaining accurate case records and documentation
· Delivering a professional, customer-focused legal service
I’d love to speak to any Housing Legal Assistant who has:
· A 2:1 Law Degree or above, or LPC/SQE qualification (or equivalent)
· Previous experience in a legal role or legal environment
· Experience working within a housing background or housing-related organisation (desirable)
· Strong written and verbal communication skills
· Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities
· Confidence working with internal teams and external stakeholders
· An interest in developing experience in housing law and civil litigation
· Knowledge of Civil Procedure Rules (CPR) (desirable but not essential)
