Do you enjoy working with your hands and building things from the ground up? We’re seeking a motivated Workshop Operative to join a well‑established manufacturing company in Norwich. This hire is driven by exciting business growth plans.
In this role, you’ll be at the heart of the production process, assembling, constructing, and finishing specialist products using both hand and power tools. You’ll also carry out precision soldering and intricate wiring, working accurately from engineering drawings and schematics. This is a hands‑on position where attention to detail, quality, and teamwork are key to success.
Key Responsibilities
Assisting with or independently completing the assembly and fabrication of bespoke products
Reading and interpreting engineering drawings, wiring diagrams, and schematics
Carrying out soldering and detailed wiring of components to required specifications
Using hand and power tools to assemble sub‑components and full units
Working to job schedules and meeting production deadlines
Maintaining high quality standards and reporting any issues or improvement ideas
Supporting colleagues and working collaboratively across departments
Following Health & Safety procedures and using the correct PPE at all times
What We’re Looking For
A practical individual with a strong engineering or technical mindset
Ability to read and work from engineering drawings and technical instructions
Previous experience with soldering and intricate wiring (desirable)
Willingness to work regular overtime to meet production demands
Confident using tools and able to follow procedures accurately
A good team player with a strong work ethic
Eagerness to learn new skills and take part in training
Prior experience in a workshop, production, assembly, or electronics environment
