Job Description: Production Operative
Location: Spalding
Working Hours: Monday-Friday, 07:00-15:30
Salary: £27,307 per annum
Reports to: Materials Controller
Role Overview
The Production Op ensures that all packaging materials, storage areas, and yard facilities are well‑maintained, efficiently organised, and compliant with company and regulatory standards. This role directly supports production by maintaining packaging availability, operating key machinery, and maintaining excellent housekeeping and safety standards.

Scissor liftsKey Responsibilities
Packaging Duties
Operate and maintain the box‑making machine, including routine cleaning.
Manage all box sizes in use, ensuring continuous availability for operations.
Maintain the Packaging Store and Box‑Making areas to BRC standards.
Ensure all packaging stock is clearly labelled with correct codes and quantities.
Count customer trays as required.Yard Duties (as required)
Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the rear yard and general external site areas.
Operate the cardboard baler and waste compactor safely.
Manage fruit waste, general waste skips, and disposal via external agencies.
Operate forklifts to unload/load lorries as needed.Other Duties (as required)
Conduct daily MHE (Mechanical Handling Equipment) visual checks and battery top‑ups.
Support occasional grounds maintenance (e.g., grass cutting).
Ensure safe and correct storage of chemicals and cleaning agents.
Follow all company Health & Safety guidelines to maintain a safe working environment
