Your new role
As a Junior Accounts Assistant, you will support both the Client Accounting function and the Purchase Ledger team. Reporting to the Credit Control Manager and Purchase Ledger Manager, you will play a key role in ensuring accurate and timely financial processing.
Client Accounting Responsibilities
Maintain accurate tenant records, processing new tenants, leavers, and renewals in the property management system.
Issue rent, service charge, and contribution demands across various frequencies.
Download daily bank statements and allocate cash receipts.
Prepare weekly inter‑account transfers.
Take card payments and issue receipts when required.
Process tenant deposits and returns, ensuring full documentation.
Complete regular bank reconciliations.
Respond to tenant enquiries by email and phone.
Provide ad‑hoc support to senior finance staff.
Purchase Ledger Responsibilities
Review and post purchase invoices and payments with correct supporting details.
Ensure invoice approvals follow company policy.
Handle supplier queries via phone and email.
Process BACS payments and issue remittance advices.
Write and post cheques when needed.
File paid invoices accurately.
Set up and verify new supplier accounts.
What you'll need to succeed
Strong attention to detail.
Good numeracy skills.
Strong organisational and time‑management abilities.
Proficiency in Excel.
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
Ability to work effectively within a team.Desirable (but not essential)
Experience with Propman or similar property management systems.
Knowledge of the property industry.
Experience completing bank reconciliations.
