The Opportunity:
Long Term Futures are seeking a caring and committed SEN Support Assistant to join a welcoming and inclusive school in the Lewisham area.
The school supports pupils with a range of Special Educational Needs, including Autism (ASD), ADHD, Speech & Language needs, and SEMH. You will play a key role in helping pupils access learning, develop confidence, and make meaningful progress in a supportive environment.
Your Key Responsibilities:
Provide 1:1 and small-group support for pupils with SEN
Assist in implementing behaviour, communication, and sensory strategies
Support the class teacher in adapting lessons and resources
Help create a structured, inclusive, and engaging learning environment
Deliver targeted interventions to support academic and social development
Build positive, trusting relationships with pupils, staff, and parents/carersRequirements:
Experience supporting children or young people with SEN
Strong communication and behaviour management skills
Patient, empathetic, and adaptable approach
Ability to work collaboratively within a school team
Understanding of safeguarding, wellbeing, and inclusive practiceWhy Long Term Futures?
