Learning Support Assistant (LSA) - Secondary Schools | Lewisham | Full-Time (5 Days per Week)
We are currently seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Learning Support Assistant (LSA) to join a welcoming and supportive secondary school in Lewisham on a full-time, 5 days per week basis. The Role
As a Learning Support Assistant, you will work closely with teachers and the wider support team to provide targeted assistance to students who need additional academic support. Your role will be key in helping pupils remain engaged, confident, and successful in their learning.
Key Responsibilities
Supporting students within the classroom to access the curriculum
Providing one-to-one or small group support where required
Assisting teachers with lesson preparation and classroom activities
Encouraging student engagement, confidence, and independence in learning
Supporting pupils with additional learning needs
Helping maintain a positive and productive learning environment
The Ideal Candidate
Previous experience working as a Learning Support Assistant or in a similar school-based role
Strong subject knowledge in one or more areas of the secondary curriculum
A degree is preferred
Confident supporting secondary-aged students academically and pastorally
Patient, proactive, and passionate about supporting young people
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Able to work effectively as part of a team
