Admissions Assistant
Surrey | 12-Month Fixed Term Contract
40 hours per week | Term Time + 3 Weeks (42 weeks)
FTE £27,943 | Actual Salary £25,000
An exciting opportunity has arisen to join a newly opened specialist school as an Admissions Assistant, supporting the team responsible for welcoming new pupils and families into the school community.
This is a varied and rewarding role where you will help coordinate the admissions and transition process, ensuring prospective pupils and their families experience a smooth and supportive journey from initial enquiry through to joining the school.
The Role
Supporting the admissions team with day-to-day administrative tasks
Acting as a key point of contact for prospective parents and responding to enquiries via phone and email
Coordinating school tours, open events, induction mornings and transition activities
Preparing information packs and documentation for new pupils and their families
Organising assessments, meetings and consultations with parents, schools and professionals
Maintaining accurate admissions data and records on school systems
Liaising with local authorities in line with EHCP consultation timeframes
Supporting the transition process for new pupils joining the school
Managing uniform arrangements for new starters and maintaining stock
About You
Strong administrative and organisational skills with excellent attention to detail
Confident communicator who enjoys building relationships with families and colleagues
Able to manage multiple tasks and prioritise effectively in a busy environment
Strong IT skills, ideally including Google Workspace or school MIS systems
A calm, empathetic and professional approach when dealing with sensitive information
Experience in administration or customer-facing roles (education experience beneficial but not essential)
