About the Role
Our client, a supportive and inclusive school in Colchester, is seeking a dedicated Learning Support Assistant (LSA) to join their team. This is a rewarding opportunity to work closely with teachers to support pupils who require additional help with their learning, development, and classroom engagement.
The successful candidate will play an important role in ensuring students receive the support they need to thrive academically, socially, and emotionally.
Key Responsibilities
Provide 1:1 and small group support to pupils within the classroom.
Assist the class teacher in delivering engaging and inclusive lessons.
Support students with Special Educational Needs (SEN) such as autism, ADHD, or learning difficulties.
Help maintain a positive, structured, and inclusive classroom environment.
Adapt learning resources and activities to suit individual student needs.
Monitor student progress and provide feedback to teachers and SEN staff.
Encourage students' confidence, independence, and participation in learning.
Support pupils' emotional wellbeing and social development when required.
Requirements
Experience working with children, young people, or individuals with additional needs is desirable.
A genuine passion for supporting students and helping them reach their potential.
Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
A patient, empathetic, and proactive approach.
Relevant qualifications (such as Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant) are beneficial but not essential.
