The Role
The role supports the Finance Manager with day to day finance duties, providing additional assistance to ensure the smooth and efficient running of the organisation’s financial operations. Responsibilities include helping to process financial transactions, maintaining accurate financial records and supporting routine accounting activities.
The Accounts Assistant acts as an extra helping hand within the finance function, assisting with general finance administration, maintaining financial data and supporting the preparation of financial information when required.
The role helps ensure financial processes are carried out efficiently and that records remain organised and up to date to support the overall financial management of the organisation.
Duties
Assist with the preparation of monthly bank reconciliations, ensuring transactions are accurately recorded and any discrepancies are investigated and resolved
Help with month end processes, including preparing supporting documentation, updating financial records and assisting with closing procedures
Process financial transactions such as invoices, payments and receipts in a timely and accurate manner
Maintain and update financial records, ensuring all data is accurate and properly documented
Assist with monitoring incoming and outgoing payments and ensuring transactions are correctly recorded in the accounting system
Support the preparation of financial information and reports for the Finance Manager when required
Reconcile financial data and assist with identifying and resolving discrepancies
Maintain organised finance files and documentation to support audit and reporting requirements
Provide additional support to the Finance Manager and wider finance team as required
General administration within the finance function
Experience Required
Previous accounts experience
Ideally AAT level 3 or level 4 qualified
Accuracy and attention to detail
Good organisational skills
An ability to work independently and as part of a team
Strong administrative skills
