Learning Support Assistant (1:1 Support)
Primary Schools, Wakefield
We are looking for a skilled and compassionate Learning Support Assistant to work across a group of primary schools in the Wakefield area. This role focuses on providing dedicated 1:1 support to children with additional learning, behavioural, or communication needs, helping them to thrive both academically and socially.
🌟 Key Responsibilities
Provide 1:1 learning support tailored to the needs of individual pupils.
Assist with classroom activities, small-group work, and personalised interventions.
Help children develop confidence, independence, and positive learning habits.
Work closely with class teachers, SENCOs, and external professionals to deliver effective support plans.
Promote an inclusive, nurturing, and safe learning environment.✔️ Requirements
Experience working 1:1 with children in a school or similar setting is essential.
Understanding of SEND, including strategies for supporting children with ASD, ADHD, SEMH, or learning delays.
Patience, empathy, and strong communication skills.
Ability to build positive, trusting relationships with pupils and staff.
A proactive, flexible approach and willingness to work across multiple school sites.
Enhanced DBS (or willingness to obtain one).💼 What We Offer
