Key Responsibilities

Support the team in serving hot and cold meals to pupils and staff

Maintain high standards of food hygiene and cleanliness in the kitchen and serving areas

Wash dishes, utensils, and kitchen equipment

Clean kitchen surfaces, dining areas, and food preparation spaces

Follow food safety regulations and school health & safety policies
-
Assist with setting up and clearing down the dining area
-
Ensure correct portion control and presentation of meals

Support the catering team during busy lunch service periods
Essential
-
Previous catering or kitchen experience
-
Ability to work efficiently in a busy kitchen environment

Good teamwork and communication skills

Understanding of food safety and hygiene standards

Reliable, punctual, and well organised
Desirable

Level 2 Food Hygiene Certificate
-
Experience working in a school or large catering environment

Enhanced DBS certificate (preferably on the Update Service)

Knowledge of allergen awareness and dietary requirements
