£30,000-£60,000 + Bonus
We are working with a well-established and highly regarded Costs Consultancy specialising in Court of Protection matters, who are looking to expand their Costs team with the addition of an experienced CoP Costs Draftsperson.
This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled draftsperson seeking flexibility, autonomy and the choice between a consultant or employed setup, while still benefiting from being part of a collaborative and supportive team.
The Role
You will be responsible for managing your own caseload of Court of Protection costs matters, handling the full lifecycle from drafting through to settlement.
Key responsibilities include:

Drafting detailed bills of costs in Court of Protection matters

Preparing N258B forms and supporting documentation

Conducting costs negotiations and settlements

Preparing Points of Reply and Points of Dispute

Advising fee earners and clients on costs recovery and strategy

Managing files independently while meeting deadlines and billing targets

Liaising with the Senior Courts Costs Office where required
About You

Proven experience drafting Court of Protection bills is essential

Strong knowledge of SCCO processes and requirements

Confident negotiating and settling costs

Able to manage your own workload independently

Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills

Experience working remotely and self-sufficiently
