Level 3 Nursery Assistant – Newcastle upon Tyne
Job Purpose
To provide high-quality care and early years education in accordance with the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework, ensuring a safe, stimulating, and inclusive environment that supports children’s learning and development.
Key Responsibilities
Childcare & Development
Plan, prepare, and deliver age-appropriate activities in line with the EYFS curriculum.
Support children’s learning through play-based experiences.
Observe, assess, and record children’s progress, maintaining accurate developmental records.
Act as a Key Person, building secure and positive relationships with allocated children and families.
Support children’s personal, social, emotional, and physical development.
Person Specification
Essential
Level 3 qualification in Early Years Education and Childcare (full and relevant).
Knowledge of the EYFS framework.
Understanding of safeguarding and child protection procedures.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work as part of a team.
Desirable
Paediatric First Aid certificate.
Experience working in an early years setting.
Knowledge of SEND support strategies.
