Assistant Head of Curriculum – Health T-Levels & Behavioural Science

The Vacancy
One of our colleges is seeking an experienced and motivated curriculum leader to join
there Health and Science department as Assistant Head of Curriculum – Health T-
Levels & Behavioural Science.
This is a key leadership role with responsibility for their Health T-Level provision,
including Adult Nursing, Mental Health and Children’s Nursing, alongside their
Behavioural Science portfolio, comprising Psychology, Criminology and Mental Health
programmes.
The post holder will work closely with the Head of Curriculum to shape,
lead and grow high-quality, employer-responsive provision that delivers strong
learner outcomes and meets the demands of a rapidly evolving skills landscape.
The successful candidate will play a central role in ensuring the effective delivery,
quality and sustainability of Health T-Levels, including oversight of curriculum intent,
compliance requirements, employer engagement and industry placements. Alongside
this, they will provide leadership across Behavioural Science programmes, driving
curriculum coherence, quality improvement and progression routes for learners.
In this role, you will:
Provide strategic and operational leadership for Health T-Levels, ensuring
high-quality delivery, compliance with national requirements, and readiness
for inspection.
Lead and develop strong employer and industry partnerships to secure high-
quality placements and ensure curriculum relevance.
Oversee performance, quality improvement and curriculum development
across Behavioural Science programmes, including Psychology, Criminology
and Mental Health.
Support curriculum planning, staffing and resource management to ensure
sustainable and impactful delivery.
Contribute to business planning, staff development and continuous
improvement in line with departmental and College priorities.
Work collaboratively with colleagues, employers and external partners to
support recruitment, retention, progression and positive learner destinations.
You will be an inclusive and credible leader with a strong understanding of Further
Education quality frameworks and a clear grasp of the demands of T-Level delivery.
You will be confident translating strategy into practice, developing staff, and using
data and insight to drive improvement.
Applicants should hold a relevant degree (or equivalent professional qualification), a
recognised teaching qualification, and have proven experience of leading curriculum
delivery and quality within an FE or training setting.
Experience of Health T-Levels, employer engagement and/or Behavioural Science provision will be a significantadvantage.
