Making Tax Digital (MTD) Administrator & Companies House Compliance Officer

The Role
We are seeking a detail-oriented, proactive and reliable person, with a strong focus on Companies House compliance and Making Tax Digital (MTD) administration, ensuring clients meet HMRC obligations accurately and on time. You will work closely with clients and our internal teams to gather the required information, updating digital records and preparing quarterly submissions for MTD.
This role is ideal for someone with excellent organisational skills, attention to detail and preferably experience in UK statutory and tax-related administration to join our growing team.
Key Responsibilities
Marketing Task Digital (MTD) Administration:
* Support MTD compliance for VAT and other applicable taxes
* Manage a full workflow of MTD submissions for a portfolio of clients
* Maintain and update digital records in line with HMRC requirements ensuring the data is complete, accurate and compliant
* Perform reconciliation tasks and trouble shoot any discrepancies
* Prepare and support quarterly reporting cycles, including income, expenses and digital record-keeping requirements
* Liaise with clients to request information, clarify queries and ensure timely submission of required data
* Stay up to date with HMRC’s MTD regulations, deadlines and best practices
Companies House Compliance:
* Prepare and file confirmation statements checklists, file confirmation statements, deal directly with clients on changes and obtain relevant documentation; and filing any company updates
* Maintain statutory registers and company records
* Ensure timely submission of Companies House filings
* Monitor compliance deadlines and alert management of upcoming requirements
* Assist with company incorporations, changes to directors, PSCs, and registered offices
* ID Verifications for clients and PSC’s
* Assist with client on boarding and ongoing client due diligence reporting
Required Skills & Experience:
* Working knowledge of Companies House requirements
* Experience with Making Tax Digital (MTD) and VAT processes (preferred but not essential)
* Strong organisation skills with exceptional attention to detail
* Experience working with Xero accounting software (preferred but not essential as training will be provided)
* Experience of using Companies House (preferred but not essential as training will be provided)
* Good understanding of UK compliance deadlines
* Basic understanding of bookkeeping and tax administration would be advantageous
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a client-focused approach
* Ability to manage multiple deadlines and work independently in a structured manner
* Use of Word, Excel and emails
