My client is seeking a Bookkeeper / Administrator to join their thriving business on a temp to perm basis. (Approx. 16 hours per week)
They are seeking a detail‑oriented, organised, and personable Bookkeeper/Administrator to support their busy property maintenance business. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, processing transactions, and providing general administrative support.
Experience with Xero is essential.
This role would suit someone who is confident, adaptable, and able to balance professionalism with a friendly, down‑to‑earth approach. A good sense of humour and the ability to handle the occasional challenging tenant conversation will go a long way.
Key Responsibilities
• Manage day‑to‑day bookkeeping activities, including data entry and transaction processing
• Reconcile bank statements and ensure financial data is accurate and up to date
• Process accounts payable and receivable efficiently and accurately
• Maintain organised financial records using recognised accounting software, including Xero
• Support month‑end and year‑end closing processes
• Provide general administrative support as required
Experience & Skills
• Proven experience as a Bookkeeper or in a similar finance/admin role
• Strong proficiency in Xero (essential)
• Good understanding of accounts payable, receivable and general ledger processes
• Some knowledge of payroll, HR or CIS would be an advantage
• Experience within the property maintenance or building industry is preferred but not essential
• Confident communicator who can engage with tenants, contractors and clients appropriately

• Friendly, approachable and able to have a bit of banter with the team while remaining professional with clients
• Calm and patient when dealing with difficult situations
• Highly organised with strong attention to detail
• Flexible and willing to support the business during busier periods
• A dog lover — we have two very friendly French bulldogs in the office
Working Arrangements
They are happy to offer a mix of office‑based and remote working, particularly for the bookkeeping elements of the role. Flexibility works both ways — we can accommodate preferred working days/hours, with the expectation of occasional additional hours when needed.
