Purchase Ledger Assistant - Location Worcester - Salary - £28-30K
Are you an experienced Purchase Ledger professional with a keen eye for detail and a passion for process efficiency?
We have a fantastic opportunity for a Purchase Ledger Assistant to join a Central Finance Team, supporting the smooth and accurate running of our accounts payable function within the business.
About the Role:
As a Purchase Ledger Assistant, you will be responsible for ensuring that supplier invoices are processed promptly and accurately, and supporting month-end reporting requirements.
The Purchase Ledger Assistant will also play a key role in maintaining strong relationships with suppliers and internal departments, ensuring all financial records are up to date and in line with group policies.
Key Responsibilities:

Maintain multiple purchase ledgers (initially two, with potential for more as the group expands)

Process supplier invoices accurately

Match invoices to purchase orders, resolving discrepancies where needed

Liaise with suppliers to manage and resolve invoice queries in a timely manner

Perform supplier statement reconciliation's

Prepare and post BACS and Direct Debit payments

Assist in creating BACS payment files for approval

Set up new supplier accounts and maintain supplier data

Support month-end processes, including accruals and reconciliation's

Provide internal and external stakeholders with timely and accurate reports

Provide cover for other purchase ledger team members when needed

Carry out ad hoc finance tasks as requested
What we’re Looking For:

Strong understanding of purchase ledger processes

Proficiency in Microsoft Excel

Excellent attention to detail and accuracy

Strong organisational skills and ability to manage high-volume processing

Proactive communicator and confident liaising with internal teams and external suppliers

Ability to meet strict month-end deadlines and work well under pressure
