Assistant QS, Entry Level, Groundworks & RC Frame orientated
We are currently looking for an Assistant Quantity Surveyor to join our valued clients growing team. You will be working closely with their Senior QS, gaining hands on experience with all commercial aspects of the projects, and helping them to ensure projects are delivered successfully, learning to effectively maintain relationships, maximise commercial returns and manage contractual risks.
Our client are a progressive and proactive construction firm specialising in Groundworks, RC Frames and Temporary works, showing a year on year growth and expanding their influence across the Country.
This is an entry level role perfect for someone who has either recently graduated or is currently studying for their degree and looking to gain hands on experience alongside it, with the opportunity to keep studying at university one day a week.The role will be based out of their Midlands office, with majority of the work being based out on site.
Responsibilities

To liaise and collaborate with the Senior QS, Commercial and construction teams to familiarise yourself in all aspects of our clients’ contractual activities.

Helping the Senior QS to run the projects commercially – with support from senior staff.

To represent and serve the best interests of the company to meet client expectations and encourage repeat business.

Liaise with the estimators at hand-over.

Helping to prepare the cost / value reconciliation reports accurately and in accordance with company procedure.

Helping to prepare and agree interim valuations at the agreed dates.

Assist with Job specific procurement.

Be involved in reviewing weekly productivity of teams.

Help with the monitoring and reporting of weekly costs and productivities.

Helping to highlight any areas of concern / loss on any part of the contract.

Learning to monitor contract charges and notification to sub-contractors.

Going with the Senior QS to meetings with Client teams.

Learning how to compile the variation log and sign off on variations, working alongside the Client QS.

Assist with cost monitoring and reporting.
Requirements
Additional Information / Package

Up to £25,000 salary (If studying at university 1 day a week)

Up to £35,000 salary (Full Time Hours)

Working Hours: 8:00am – 5:30pm
